Elite Club Teams

If you missed tryouts but are still interested in playing on a Ballyhoo Club team for the spring season, please email fieldhockey@ballyhoosportsacademy.com

Ballyhoo Field Hockey Elite Teams

Our mission is to provide year round field hockey training for the beginner to the college bound athlete.  Ballyhoo Field Hockey is the training ground for the York area’s most talented field hockey players.  Our club stresses field hockey fundamentals, situational play, individual skill development and team play as well as provides high level training for those who intend on pursuing a collegiate field hockey career. Our program runs from November 28 through May.

We compete in both indoor and outdoor regional tournaments.
The Elite teams full season includes:-
Winter: 5 indoor tournaments and two practices per week 5.30pm to 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Spring: 3 outdoor spring tournaments with two practices per week.

We field competitive travel teams in the following age groups:  U14 & U16
(Players age group is determined by their age on December 31, 2023)

Player Selection and Team Assignment

We assign players based on skill, performance, attitude and attendance. Our goal is to develop individual skills within the context of the team so that each player is prepared to play at the appropriate level in the program as well as preparing you to play at the collegiate level. A player’s attitude toward the club, coaches, and their teammates is regarded highly in our selection and retention process.

Teams will consist of 8-12 players.
